I approach therapy as collaborative & experiential encounters where I am honored to step into your life, heart, & being. Amid your experience in pain, heartache, mental health struggles, & adverse life circumstances lie a core Self where connection & groundedness reside. During therapy, a sense of Self & relational safety are created where we can journey together to healing & integration.

I am a Youth Development Specialist & relational trauma therapist who focuses on the treatment of trauma on adolescents, adults, & families. Traumas may include PTSD & stress symptoms, childhood or relational adverse experiences like physical, emotional, or sexual abuse; cultural & minority oppressive injustices, shifts in familial structure or dynamic, along with other difficulties like anxiety, depression, parenting support, & internal/relational conflict. Internal Family Systems & Narrative models of therapy ground my work in considering impacts of culture(s), experience, intersections of identities towards tailoring treatment to fit your goals.

In our relationships, we hope to feel connected, cared for, and understood. However, after a conversation with a loved one, you may find yourself feeling frustrated, misunderstood, or exhausted. Conversations can feel like they're going in circles and you may be blowing up or shutting down before reaching a resolution. You may even find yourself communicating in ways that hinder connection and understanding because you aren't sure how else to express how you feel. If this sounds familiar, please understand that you're not alone. Together we can all work to process those responses and have healthier conversations.

I take a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed approach with teens, adults, and couples managing trauma, anxiety, depression, identity issues, and relationship difficulties. My specific niches are working with ethnic and sexual minorities, childhood and betrayal trauma, and communication and intimacy issues.

My aspirations to become a licensed counselor originated from my own experiences with grief. These hardships & healings led to a strong desire to help individuals & families navigate the difficulties of life. I am a faith-based counselor who earned my undergraduate degree in Christian Ministry from Mid-America Christian University, where I am also pursuing a Marriage & Family Counseling master's degree. My therapeutic approach includes an integrative model using cognitive-behavioral therapy & solution-focused therapies with foundations of person-centered & family systems modalities.

Born from a desire for everyone to find ways to cultivate peace & joy in spite of hard circumstances, I became a counselor. For more than 10 years, I have seen, firsthand, the impacts of mental health issues in adults & children. I have also seen the positive & lasting impacts in asking for help. Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is ask for help & I would love the opportunity to guide you on your journey.

Caring & empathy have always been a part of who I am both as a counselor & an educator. I first received my Masters of Education in School Counseling in 2012 and later pursued licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Since obtaining full licensure I work with families, adolescents, & young adults primarily using cognitive-behavioral therapy, person-centered models, & a meditative approach to guide therapy. I look forward to walking through this amazing journey in finding sustaining peace & a healthy mentality.
